Game Time

My children had little choice in the matter..."you're going to like hockey/Canucks. And football/Lions - NFL?...you can choose between Bears, Giants or Seahawks. That's it. Anything else and you're disowned".
(Real women play football. Me in the back, behind my bf Tracy. Remind me to tell you the story of our football days...quite hilarious. In this picture I'd just had my helmet busted off by a moose and I was not impressed. I don't think Trace knew you're not supposed to "vogue" on the sidelines. I, on the other hand, had my gameface on.)

Enjoy the game!

i did. we had one game against an established team (John Oliver) who'd been playing forever, blah blah blah.

We didn't know what we were doing and had to learn all the plays in two weeks (which is how long we had to practice) before our one and only "big game". We even put some of the pads on backwards (I can't believe we had to share the guy's pads...ew). I was a shrimp but a fast runner so I did o.k....some of our girls got creamed though. But we won the game, despite being the bigtime underdogs. Quite funny really...the JO girls were very "butch" and hated us as we were all putting on lip gloss and brushing our hair after the game (still in our uniforms)...you know, the guys were there!

I played some intramural football in university, but was no better at it than at the intramural baseball and hockey I also sucked at. It was fun though!

Is that Ty in the first two pics? What a cutie pie!

You played football? Wow, I'm impressed. I played rugby for a bit, buggered my knees though.

I didn't have a choice either in sports teams. Toronto (anything) or die. Ah, family.

sorry guys....welcome to my world.

Barb...fun's what it's all about. We joined because noone thought we stood a chance so a bunch of us girls decided we'd give it a shot. That is Ty, before he turned into a traitor.

Allison...that's funny - "or die". Basically I was raised with sports so it just kind carried over here.

kelly...feel free to join in.

ruth...well I guess Ty thinks he did today. He's also a Green Bay fan.

Ice hockey sounds like fun ... we don't really have that over here (we barely have the ICE, let alone the hockey ...) okay, girls play nonice hockey at school. But not boys. I'm not quite sure why ...

The pictures are so sweet. Loved the Chicago Bears shirts. If we only had a effin quarterback yesterday. Ha.

Daughter Amy played QB for powder puff game. Had a good arm.

Also fast pitch softball: has broken each ankle, each arm and her nose. She' way tougher than me.

Yeah, Ruth's really OLD, Deb. So you'll need to bear with her sometimes. Also she's British.!

Being from Detroit it is impossible to be a Lions fan, we try and they fail us time and again, so I choose to be a Bears fan. It is just to bad Rex decided not to show up to the game.
