Canucks Continue To Roll
The Canucks won in OT last night (again). Afterwards I kept the sports network on for awhile and, quite frankly, I'm getting tired of the same ol' story. What does this team have to do to earn respect around the league? We're leading the Northwest Division, have won 24 games since Christmas and there are still doubters out there? This team's for real - give your head a shake naysayers. People are quick to give all the glory to Luongo...I won't take anything away from him because he's unbelievable. He's just surpassed "Captain" Kirk (McLean) for most wins in a season (39 and counting) and is the best thing to happen here in a long time (maybe franchise history? Although we did have Bure). But everyone is playing well and it pisses me off when people still question the team's ability and say we'd be nothing without Roberto in net. We win with Sabourin in net too...does that not prove anything? We're here to stay and on a roll heading into the stretch. Of course, anything can happen in such a heated battle for the West, but this team's proven itself this year and we aren't going anywhere. O.K.? And, ftr, Alain Vigneault has established himself as coach of the year as far as I'm concerned. The guy's always mixing things up - like when he put Trevor on the PP and called him out for the shootout. And moving Cowan up to the second line...the guy was a fourth line grinder. And look what's happened?...he's the highest scoring player in the NHL in March - five goals already. Shows what a little faith in your guys will do. You just never know what this coach is going to throw at you...he keeps the other teams guessing and is anything but predictable. He's quickly become my favorite Canuck's coach.
So for those who still slam my team...get off it, you're idiots. Reminds me of when McD's sold mini jerseys. I think there were 6 in the set, including Naslund, and on the TV ads they displayed the jerseys...all but one that is. And guess who's was missing?...yep, Nazzy's. We're used to it though, we're all but forgotten here. It's time that change.
In other hockey(?) related news....Chris Simon, up to his old antics. He's had five previous NHL disciplinary bans during his career...how many strikes before you're out?

BC 2 hander at it's best, Gordie Howe used to call that shaking hands hello...just kidding they need to make Simon sit for 50 games or so.
It could've been really bad...thought it was at first. I wonder if he'll get charged? People who voted said it should be kept within the league, but there needs to be consistency with that. It'll be interesting to see what develops here.
Well, off to the hospice for the day...have a great day my friend.
Be back later ;)
Oh, and speaking of Mr. Hockey, he's part owner of my other team, The Giants. I've yet to get his autograph, but am working on it.
The league has got to do something about the blatant trying to take out players. But considering how Bertuzzi was named to the Olympic Team and made such a hero after taking out Steve Moore it's no wonder the message to change is not getting out there. Did you see the interview with Steve Moore last week on the National?
when I was small Gordie used to skate around on a lake near me helping the kids learn, good times, I've spent a little time with Teddy also, I'm blessed with living by old Wings.
