Matt Good had this up on his blog...it stirred up so much anger in me that I had to post it here. These heartless fucks need to be dragged behind their vehicle.....how they can get enjoyment and laugh like morons at these children???...makes me ashamed to be part of this world. I could cry at this...that boy ran his little heart out. Mindless fucks...they sound wasted. Aren't you proud of the troops when they act like asses? (pardon my language...times like this I think it's justified).

He had another video where it's the same idiocy, but the soldiers are firing at cars and blowing people up. Again, laughing and cheering like they're playing a bloody video game. It's sick.

Gotta' run now Mel...off to the hospice (tired!).

not condoning this at all it makes me sick as well, but you have to remember the troops are mostly kids as well, and most of them were not honor role students in school, it's the price you pay when you invade, and the army doesn't teach common sense or humanity. asshats the lot of them.
ironic the WV right now has "fun" in it.

but who's steering the ship over there?...there are so many videos that show the soldiers seemingly enjoying this shit (and much worse). It's like an animal house mentality and I'm shocked to see it. I'll link to the other video...which was far too disturbing. Someone has to be in charge and accountable over there...whether these are kids or not. It's all wrong.

junky, honestly, you bring up a very good point. And youre right - that's what happens when you send in a kid to do a man's job...immaturity factors in. But we can't accept this behavior from anyone and, as the adults, it's important that we point out how very wrong it is. I realize that the age these guys are at often includes this kind of behavior....we just need to call it out when we see it. For, if we make excuses for this behavior, we're allowing it to continue and are as much to blame. Kids or not, they need to have a sense of morality by that age...my son did. Maybe I was just lucky with him, but I don't think so. I think I instilled that from very early on and maybe this all goes way deeper to how the fuck are we raising our children? Kids or not, it's not right when we bully and they're supposed to be taught that from early on in life. The mentality over there scares me.

"Its the price you pay when you invade."
I really couldn't agree more, and this video did not shock me in the slightest, further proving how desensitized everything is becoming, which is not to say it didn't sadden me.

I remember watching a docu (I can't remember the name now), but it showed officers recruiting others, and their mentality was not far off from the people showcased in this video, and their supposed to be the ones in charge? So I think its a combination of factors, but really, one has to look at who is running everything.

I agree to some degree. But kids to me are six year olds...these "kids" are old enough that they should've developed some sort of conscience and have a smidgen of morals in place. If we give them an out by treating this as almost "expected" behavior, then we're contributing to it as far as I'm concerned.

There's just no explaining this one into the "acceptable" category to me. I expect more out of people...maybe that's my problem.

I'm not saying we should give them an out, I'm saying we also need to look at who their 'role models' are. Reprimanding needs to start from the top down.

Reprimanding is not the word I wanted to put there...but hopefully you get what I mean.

Allison...you make a very good point. When this stuff happens why is it that noone intervenes and where are the people in charge??

(I tend to get extra vocal when it comes to stuff that involves kids...it just gets me)

you serious?....you should, for sure if you are. And email their mothers and tell them to give them a damn good lickin' too!!

It just stuck with me junky. And I know guys that age do shit. I've been lucky - my son never has really bought into being a moron (except at home in front of us). And I'm o.k. with it, as long as noone's being hurt by it. But to crush a little kid like that just eats me up.
