Soundtrack of the Century

Okay, this is my idea. We're making the best damn (pretend) CD in the world. I'm throwing out some songs, then you add 5. We'll keep adding on, as we think of our favorites. Not necessarily "the best" songs on earth, just OUR very best choices. Let's see what we come up with. I actually could list about 2,394,359 right now, but will start with a few. Here goes:

Ten Years Gone - Led Zeppelin
Tripoli - Matt Good
Black - Pearl Jam
Water - Holly McNarland
Nautical Disaster - Hip
Aneuysm - Nirvana
Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns - Mother Love Bone
Hurt - Johnny
Nutshell - Alice In Chains

This will be hard. I can think of 5 a second. There will be "classic" best songs, but I'm talking "personal preferences". I'm always curious about what other people are listening to.

Oh man, Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" is TOTALLY on my list, Deb! You read my mind! Oh, AND a Beatles song, but one re-done by Eddie Vedder.

I made a remark about this in one of the responses to you on my blog. I am having a hell of time picking only 5 songs! But honestly, that Pink Floyd song I wrote down in the top 5 (out of the 30-something I can't choose from). :P

Seriously, I can't even pick 5 favourite Matthew Good songs, let alone ALL the bands...sheesh. :P

Oh, and might I add, if you're not already doing it, go through your blog settings and check off the email notification part, so you get notified when people leave a comment, and you know which entry they left the comment in. I didn't for the longest time, and just started to recently. Now I think I would be lost without it!

Okay, here's some songs. I had 4 other Matt Good songs on the list and 2 other Hip songs, but since those artists are already on your original list, I'll leave them out.

Eric Clapton - Running On Faith
Incubus - The Warmth
Blue Rodeo - Try
Finger Eleven - Above
Barenaked Ladies - Brian Wilson

Oh, there are 10 million more!!

Mel...love them. Black Girl is so fucking fantasticly awesome. I actually lost a bet, as I thought LJB was the original artist and argued up and down with my son...turns out he's not and it's a really old song. What do you think of the Nirvana cover? My daughter is just getting me into the YYY's - great stuff.

I'm gonna' take a picture of a really great little gem that I found years ago at a garage sale. It's my "treasure" find...a "demo" cd of PJ's before they released Ten....it wasn't for sale and there were only a few copies out. It has a cover of "I've Got A Feeling". Love It. But, come to think of it, I think I totally already bragged all over your blog about this. Show off that I am.

Thanks for the email tip...I'll do it tomorrow 'cause I'm dead ass tired and wondering why I'm still up at 3:02 when I work at 9????!!
