I just looked up Vancouver on google. Is it true about 40% of the population is Chinese? and 49% are not English-speaking?
You never can be sure what wikipedia has to say. I know this because I've been known to add opinions of my own from time to time on certain things ...!...
It's more now. Here, in Richmond, it's probably closer to 75% (a guestimate...could be more). We have more Chinese here than anywhere in the lower mainland.
They like the shape of our little island on a map, something about the ball in the dragon's mouth warding off evil and bringing prosperity.
And the word "rich" in the name is apparently a huge draw too.
