Welcome Back Baby!
My boy's back. And I'm very happy about that...not as happy as Fiona, but pretty damn happy. There are a few players I was really sorry to see go - Sopel was one of them. He's one of those players you either love or hate. Many were nervous when he was around the puck. We even sometimes would joke and say he'd "pulled a Sopes" when he'd bobble the puck around. But he also had the ability to make things happen. And he had heart and loved it here. I know he's an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. I also know he'd love to stay in Vancouver.
For now, I'm just happy he'll be back in our line up. He just fits better here.
(And while we're on the welcome back theme....Kelly's back too!!)

Debs have a click on my photos link I posted up today. The url is: http://outsider.weblog.com.pt/
I think they're amazingly good fotos. You'd think by the colouring/ambience they were shot in Britain or Ireland, but the language is Spanish so I assume they were taken somewhere in (Northern, surely) Spain ...
I'll have to confess that I don't follow any sports at all, but I do love hockey. Great sport, one that I would actually pay money to see! :)

o.k. Gled, I'm heading over.
velvet...thanks for coming. Glad to hear you're a "fellow" hockey fan like me. It's a great sport.
You can have Bertuzzi back as well, not really happy about that.
Oh junky, don't even get me started on this one. I'm WAY too opinionated on it and first and foremost, it was wrong, what Bert did. No excuses or bullshit...shouldn't have happened that way. Now, for the other 897 pages I've written on it, well I'll save you that. I just have a lot to say on it (still). There was a lot wrong with the entire thing, as it unfolded, start to finish. From the hit on Nazzy to the league doing nothing other than sitting in the crowd to watch what played out. They had a responsibility to intervene and they didn't - they sat and observed because it sold tickets. I can't go there, it's too painful and I don't let up.
I'd take him back in a minute. He's a great power forward and a wonderful guy in the community (I know, we've met him). Give him a chance...everyone in life deserves at least that.
Nazzy was his best friend. Nazzy was taken out by a cheap shot that warranted attention, yet got none. But hey, we're in Vancouver, not Toronto. Out with a concussion - our star captain. Bert let emotion come into play and Moore should've turned and fought when he felt the tug. He didn't. It went too far but the dogpile on top surely didn't help....for someone not saying much, I said too much. I'll go to my grave standing by my convictions on this one. And, although Bert should've used more restraint, this shit happens in hockey every game and it was nothing more than an unfortunate outcome that lead us here. Luck of the draw. Could happen any night.
Can we still be friends?
I'm gonna' workout a trade for you and you can give me Bertuzzi back, 'cause I wasn't finished with him yet.
O.K....my first offer.
I'll give you my extra set of McDonald's hockey trophies, my Pat Quinn autograph from when I butt in front of him in line and he called me out on it, my Stevie Y rookie card and my Red Wings t-shirt (yes, I have one). Deal? Actually I'm keeping the rookie card and Pat's autograph. I'll throw in a stapler or something. Deal?
and I'll throw in Jan Bulis.
(probably just disregard my thoughts on Bert...what I've learned is this - people are going to see it one of two ways. And that's not changing. Probably, your side is right. My heart told me otherwise and I can't change that. So I respect other's opinions on it but, that being said, can't change how I feel. So I should've shut up before I started and you should just disregard anything that starts with Bert if it comes out of my mouth. Unless, of course, it's followed by Ernie)
