Argh, this is bullshit. This stupid google account wouldn't let me sign in/comment!! Anyhow, I want to express how sincerely grateful I am to all of you who sent kind messages and helped me through this very dark time. Apparently I'm not out of the woods yet and have a lot to do over the next few weeks...I guess things were a bit worse than I thought and we've discovered some stuff that needs taking care of. No biggie...my doctor said today, "my God girl, you're tough. Good thing you've taken care of yourself because you might've had a heart attack if not". My hemoglobin dropped off the chart and I'm now trying to build that up at home - bed rest, iron and some other stuff that'll hopefully help with that. But I did have some serious scary palpitations at one point and thought "oh, oh, this is it".

I've opted out of a transfusion for now - may have to have one if I experience another bout like I just did. We'll see - I'm doing exactly what I've been ordered to do for now. Which is load up on iron and take it real easy. My doc laughed when I asked about working out - "walking up the stairs is your new workout. For now.". He knows me so well and that I'm not one to sit/take it easy. I'm a go, go, go'er. So this is new to me.

Thanks again...it's all good. I'll be around here as long as I can be at home. If I suddenly disappear, no worries, I'll be back. Just gone for an oil change.

I'm not real good at "take it easy" but I'm getting better at it. I have no choice - the next week is "do or die" (literally). They can't put me under to do other stuff they have to do until I get my hemoglobin up to par so I'm being sat on as we speak. Ugh, I hate this though - it was a gorgeous day and my bike is lonely. :(

I too am yelling at you. I think you will just have to put up and shut up as we all give you a good talking to. Holy crap girl, take care of yourself!! Screw the bike it will still be sitting there once they patch you up.

Ok now that my little lecture is over and done with I will wish you all the best. Hope your kids are spoiling you rotten! Take care and I also second the Hugs.

This is the ideal time to start reading those Canada Reads books. A comfy chair, a pile of books ... come on, Deb, you can do that. Either that or I will come over and show you how.

tc...i really am trying. Actually, I'm sleeping about 50% of the time here and really saving my energy. Next week's gonna' be a doozie so I have to get ready for it.

Barb, that's a damn good idea. I'm actually going to hit the libraby this weekend so I'm going to check out the one your friend is defending.

That is a great book to start with. I'm almost finished reading it, and I want to read Song of Kahunsha next.

I'm glad you're getting lots of sleep, it's what you need.

It was really hard to contain myself during the Canuck's game tonight. I did have to bang my water bottle on the wall once, and then I settled down. I don't have much choice at this point...get those levels up or go sit my ass in hospital and have another transfusion. So resting is good.
