Well, back to work today. I only missed two shifts, as yesterday was my scheduled day off, but the boss has been covering me as noone else is available (I bet she appreciates me now). She's actually been very understanding throughout my ordeal and I've been quite surprised by that but I need to get my ass back in there today.
I'm leaving right now to get Damien Rice tickets
for Linds and I...he's here four days before her birthday. She was really upset yesterday because she'd planned on going to Bright Eyes in Seattle with her Dad (my Seattle days are over), but the tickets were sold out! That's probably her favorite band and she slumped around here all day like a black cloud was hanging over her. She pulled it together for wheelchair basketball but she's so easily taken out - I worry about her. You know 15 year olds - the world ends if they can't see their favorite band. She saw them at the Malkin Bowl here in Stanley Park awhile ago - the first concert she went to with her Dad. I thought the bonding experience of them going off together and staying in Seattle overnight would've been a good thing but, no dice.
Well have a great day chickadees, I'm outta' here.
Hi-ho-hi-ho.....

You're a trooper. Have a nice weekend.
thank you Rob...you too!
Relax this weekend...a rare steak or two might not hurt...

You were at work today? Oh man I hope you didn't wear yourself out too much. Take care and here's hoping you get to have yourself a lazy weekend. At 15, everything seems like life or death.
hi E. Sounds like a plan. I'm taking a double dose of iron and loaded up on some other stuff to help things along. steak could be in order here.
tc - work was brutal but I made it. I've just come home to a two hour nap and it really helped. Well I got the Damien Rice tix so life goes on.
Are you allowed to go back to work already? I thought the plan was some rest and reading?
Take it easy when you can.
I didn't ask Barbara. :) The thing is that my job allows for "taking it easy" to some degree. It was tough though...by 3:30 I was fading. This will take a bit I guess and I'm trying to be patient. Funny, at least three of my "regulars" said, "wow, you're back" (again, only off two shifts). Which was followed by "you look terrible". Great. Thanks.
Hey, relax this weekend ok?
Maybe that's why I was such an angsty teen...I didn't seen a concert until I was about 18 (of a band I truly adored). No one liked the same stuff as me.
I went to every bloody concert that came when I was young (whether I liked 'em or not!) - saw Chuck Berry in a field/car lot, Jimmy Buffet on a mountain, LZ/The Who in Seattle and Heart in our school gymnasium. Those were the days.
Linds is lucky - she's already been to probably 10-20 and she's just 15. But I go with her.
