O.K., I have another huge "rant", but just don't have the time/energy right now.
Plus, I'm afraid I'll lose you all if you have to hear another minute of my bitching.
But, it must be done.
This is in Dad's ICU room. Now, the whole purpose of these containers is to eliminate the risk of exposure to discarded, contaminated items and they are designed to be CLOSED, in order to have any affect at all. I mean why not just a regular garbage can if you're going to use it like this?
NOTE: this was in here BEFORE Dad arrived, and is not just his garbage. I pulled my chair back at one point in order to make room for a nurse to get by me and almost knocked it over (that's when I discovered it). It has not been closed the entire time Dad's been in ICU - there are bloody scissors in there, discarded lines, etc. Absolutely disgusting.
Is this good enough?

That's disgusting: that stuff is incinerator-bound and for good reason, as we all know.
You ought to complain... maybe not now but later.
Here's me ranting about the railways (tonight) whereas you have genuine concerns.
I hope your Dad's OK now: out of the woods?
Keep up your energy, Debs. Don't get too exhausted!
Take care!
You could just leave the container at the nurses' station if you want to make a point, but you may want to wait till your dad is a bit better, so as not to jeopardize his care.
I hope he's improving and that you are getting some rest.
I have to agree with Barbara in leaving it until your father is out of there. I would be worried they might take it out on him through neglect.
Take care Deb and I hope things improve. I'm hoping it was just that his operation was on a busy weekend and they are able to catch up with all of their duties this week, the sooner the better.
Hmmmm.... today I am not going to eat much.
hi, i actually woke last night thinking of you and your father, i hope because something good has happened! anyway i said another prayer for you two before falling bace to sleep hope all is well.
deth bleedly
Hi Debs thanks for the message: answer - London.
Did you want any more specific than that? If so please email me
I will give the address one down from this as supposedly I have to delete it to stop spam getting into my emails (as some ppl have programs that scan the blogs for email addresses...)
Please note I'm shockingly bad at dealing with emails... I mean I still haven't got back in touch with TK about her closed up blog, and I want to, just keep forgetting/etc type of thing you know
if you ever email me it's best to tell me in a comment afterwards!
Here it is:
hammynutter@lycos.com !!
You don't have to apologize for being busy I know you are and you must be knackered, too!
Barbara picked up on what I was saying in my comment - shouldn't be like this but I don't trust nurses' best motives either!!
O! Re the cooking, another thing we have is called Toad in the Hole. That is sausages cooked in batter. Not fried batter but batter kind of poured on around the already cooked sausages (I think) and slammed in the oven... it is quite nice, if you want to try something British but not gross! (I'm going to look up the recipe for my blog right now)...
OK take care & all my best wishes to your Dad too!
xxx
I was thinking about your dilema and thought maybe you should keep taking pictures and notes and then once your father is out of the hospital you could turn them over to the administration. Take care Deb.
Facebook or email me when you can Debz, I'll be here. <3 I hope all is well, talk soon.
Deb, I don't even no what to say, my heart bleeds for you at such a difficult time.
i was thinking about what tocatta said...but actually taking the pics to the news..
What if somebody had kids in visiting you never know where their little hands would go?
No wonder they're spreading superbugs...
