Losing the star without a sky
Losing the reasons why
You're losing the calling that you've been faking
And i'm not kidding

It's damned if you don't and it's damned if you do
Be true 'cause they'll lock you up in a sad sad zoo
Oh hidy hidy hidy what cha tryin to prove
By hidy hidy hiding you're not worth a thing

Sew your fortunes on a string
And hold them up to light
Blue smoke will take
A very violent flight
And you will be changed
And everything
And you will be in a very sad sad zoo.

I once was lost but now i'm found was blind
But now I see you
How selfish of you to believe in the meaning of all the bad dreaming

Metal heart you're not hiding
Metal heart you're not worth a thing

Metal heart you're not hiding
Metal heart you're not worth a thing

Hi Debs. Everything chaos my end as per usual. Did you write this? It's intriguing. I'm praying things get sorted out for you very soon.

Your use of "metal heart" reminds me of the lyrics of an old Nick Lowe song:

Without love, I am half human

Without love, l'm a machine

Without love, there's nothing doin'

l will die without love

Without love I am an island

All by myself in a heartbreak sea

Without love there's no denying

I am dying without iove

Oh there is nowhere I can run

And there is no hiding place

Sticking out iike a sore thumb

By the gloomy look

Upon my face

Without love l'm incomplete

Without love, I am not whole

Without love, l'm barely on my feet

l'm a dying without love

Oh there is nowhere I can run

And there is no hiding place

Sticking out like a sore thumb

By the gloomy look

Upon my face

Without love l'm incomplete

Without love, I am no whole

Without love, l'm barely on my feet

l am dying without love

You know, sometimes I'm afraid to come back here. Afraid that no one will be here and then I see the kind words of a few faithful friends and it reminds me that I really should.

I wasn't o.k. for a little bit there - some betrayal going on, depression (for about a minute - nothing the sunshine/bike rides don't fix). A rough time of year this is - I guess it's the Mom thing. We were so close and the spring was our thing. Garage sales, outings, tea on sunny sidewalks.

I'm good - worked through it.

You people are some of the best I've never met. You mean the world to me.

Seriously.

And gleds - I wish I did write it, but it's one of my favorite singers - Chan Marshall (aka Cat Power). She's fantastic.

Glad to hear that you're okay. Life sucks sometimes, but you gotta keep putting one foot in front of the other.
